Location
Shipley Nature Center

August 18th, 2022  from 10:00 to noon.

Learn your way around this native plant preservation area by means of your sketchbook. Shipley has lots of variety and lovely places to sit, take in the view and draw.

Meeting first in the amphitheater, we will go for a short guided walkabout tour of the area to capture the landscape and this present day (in plant calendar) in a sketchbook format.

This class is for up to 6 skilled or unskilled adult artists. A small blank book will be provided, which will be yours to keep.  The instructor will provide various mediums, such a charcoal, pencils, etc, for you to borrow to make your sketches.

Sketching is a great way to get creative. There is no pressure to produce a final masterpiece, but rather to investigate, and get ideas for the next masterpiece. One can fumble with new techniques, test new mediums and storytelling in an open ended way in a sketchbook. Teacher Nina Karavasiles’ bio:  https://www.ninak.info/about.html
