Our Kids Corner is a self-guided, hands-on learning space located inside the Shirley Dettloff Interpretive Center. Designed especially for young explorers, this immersive experience invites children to dive into local ecology topics in a playful and meaningful way.

Monthly Nature Themes

Each month, Kids Corner features a new ecological theme—from pollinators and pond life to plant cycles and animal tracks—keeping the experience fresh and engaging for repeat visitors. Interactive materials encourage kids to touch, read, create, and reflect as they explore the natural world around them.

Kids Corner themes refresh every 3rd Friday of the month.

In Collaboration with Huntington Beach Public Library

Our curated book selections are made possible through a special collaboration with the Huntington Beach Public Library – Children’s Library. These titles are chosen to compliment the monthly themes and foster a love of nature through storytelling, science, and art.

What Kids Can Do

Kids Corner is open to all during regular center hours and is perfect for families, school groups, or anyone with curious young minds.
